Why choose pet fencing?

Pet fencing is about containment you can live with daily. Large breeds need height and rails that survive charging and leaning. Small dogs and puppies need pickets close enough that they cannot thread through a standard privacy gap. High-energy dogs benefit from layouts that reduce sight-line triggers along busy sidewalks or neighboring yards.

We ask how your dogs use the yard before recommending materials: open wire-and-cap runs on acreage, solid privacy for bark-prone breeds, or tighter puppy picket spacing on the lower panel where a terrier tests every gap. Gate design matters as much as the fence line, especially when an excited dog meets an open gate on trash day.

Material and post options

The right pet fence balances containment, maintenance, and how much of the neighborhood you want to see from the yard. Wood, chain link, and wire-and-cap combinations all work when height, spacing, and posts are matched to your dogs rather than a generic catalog layout.

Wood and puppy pickets

Privacy and cap-and-trim wood fences keep dogs in while defining the yard. Puppy picket spacing on the lower third closes gaps small dogs exploit on standard 2x4 layouts. Cedar and pine frames are common; steel posts help panels stay straight when large dogs lean or jump against the boards.

Chain link and coated mesh

Chain link is durable, low maintenance, and practical for long runs and large dogs. Vinyl-coated black mesh cleans up the look compared to galvanized-only installs. Height and bottom tension keep dogs from pushing under the fabric, and gates can include self-closing hardware where the opening faces the driveway.

Steel posts and gate frames

Daily gate use and dogs hitting the same post line wear down wood posts faster than panels. Steel posts and internal metal gate frames keep double-gate entries and wide side-yard openings square. Black metal hardware complements coated chain link and stained wood pet yards alike.

Gates built to match your fence

Our gates are custom built to match your fence, not a separate piece tacked on at the end.

Standard swinging gates. Single and double gates with pickets aligned to the fence run, plus hardware chosen for daily use and security needs.

Custom wood gates. Built to your width and height, including stepped pickets when grade changes between yards and customizable metal hardware to complement your wood finishes.

Metal gate frame options. A steel frame gate prevents sagging over time, prolonging the life of your gate. This pairs well with steel hinge posts.

What to expect on your project

We start with a free quote and learn your dogs' size, jump habits, and gate paths so height, puppy picket spacing, and material options fit how the yard is actually used.

Once we start work, most residential pet fence projects are installed within a week. Partial runs and tie-ins to existing fencing may shorten or extend that timeline slightly.

Current scheduling usually runs about two to three weeks from approval to start, depending on season and linear footage. We keep communication direct so you know when we are on site.

What homeowners say about our work

"Landscape Earth Fence created beautiful custom fences for my garden and my dogs. It's gorgeous and very well built. Their crew was very professional and finished the job in just a few days. Highly recommended!"

— Lily L.

"Great communications with the owner; willingness to customize our fence. High quality materials, including hidden metal posts; the crew showed up as scheduled and completed the job quickly; they cleaned up the job site, and did a great job building a small custom fence for our gravel dog yard, just based off of a couple of online pictures. We are planning on having Landscape Earth Fence redo the other two sides of our backyard fence, to correct poor materials and construction methods from a previous contractor."

— Pete C.

"We had an incredible experience working with Landscape Earth Fence! All my questions were answered very quickly and thoroughly. They had our whole fence done in 2 days. Also very happy we went with the metal gate frame. It's extremely sturdy and I think will save lots of maintenance in the future! Clint was extremely helpful, was always available and easy to get on the phone to discuss details of the project!"

— Chris B.
